Mid Aeron Agricultural Society

MUS/71/1 Minute Book of the Mid Aeron Agricultural Society 1897 â€" 1936. The document begins with details of the founding of the Society, as a result of the "able Agricultural Notes" published in the Carmarthen Journal and visits from the newspaper's editor Daniel Watkins of Bedlwyn, Talsarn. The Society encompassed the parishes of Gartheli, Nancwnlle, Trefilan, Llanfihangel Ystrad, Cilcennin, Ciliau Aeron and Llaneraeron, and meetings were held at Felinfach School. After initial success the Society foundered and was reconvened in 1912.
